Our EV batteries are built to last. In addition, we are developing ways to recycle the materials used in manufacturing.
8 YEARS WARRANTY
The batteries in our hybrid and electric cars are guaranteed for eight years or 160,000 kilometers. We guarantee that your EV battery will retain at least 80% of its original performance and range during the warranty period.
HOW DO BATTERIES IN ELECTRIC VEHICLES WORK?
The batteries in our hybrid and electric cars work in a similar way to the battery in your smartphone. However , instead of a single unit, electric cars use battery packs that have thousands of lithium-ion cells working together.
How do electric vehicle batteries work? During charging, chemical energy is generated in the batteries, which is then discharged when the connected motor is operated. This is how the drive works and ensures that your electric car is always pleasant to drive.
OUR BATTERIES
Lithium-ion batteries are used in all of our electric and hybrid vehicles . However, there are differences in size and performance depending on the vehicle's requirements .
The all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E's 99-kWh Extended Range battery provides a range of 600 kilometers on a single charge, while the Ford Fiesta mild hybrid 's 48-volt battery supports the internal combustion engine.
HOW LONG DO ELECTRIC CAR BATTERIES LAST?
EV batteries are designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. In the long term, the performance decreases by about 1-2 % per year. However, this is only noticeable if you regularly use the maximum range of the vehicle.
To maximize battery life, drive ahead and avoid extreme temperatures whenever possible.
RECYCLING ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERIES
At the end of their life, up to 95% of the elements used in the production of batteries can be recycled and used to make new batteries for electric vehicles.
We are working with partners to develop a closed-loop EV battery recycling process, with the aim of achieving zero-waste production and making EVs more affordable.
Repairs
Very occasionally, a battery may have a minor failure. We will make the repair as quick and easy as possible. And if we can't fix it, we'll replace it with a new one.
Replacement
When an EV battery under warranty needs to be replaced, we remove, recycle and replace it with a new one.
Maintenance Service
